The fast risk-free way to uncover infrastructure

The No-Strike Path to Hidden Utilities

Overview

Buried sewer, water, and other utilities system access points can be time consuming to uncover manually & risky with mechanical excavators

The Challenge

Utilities access points, valves, and related infrastructure are easy to accidentally cover over, and once buried, can be difficult to clear and locate. This is often an issue for older infrastructure, or in areas disrupted by construction or redevelopment.

The traditional process of manual excavation is time-consuming and expensive, and mechanical excavators run the risk of damaging pipes and components, particularly when infrastructure depth is not well documented or understood. Even minor damage can turn a simple cleanup into a lengthy and unexpected pipe replacement project.

The Solution

Combination jetting (Jet/Vac) is an ideal tool for precisely locating buried water and sewer structures. High pressure water cuts down to locate infrastructure, while strong vacuum power preserves visibility in the hole. Quickly locate buried infrastructure with no risk of causing damage, following up with either directed mechanical excavation or full hydro excavation. Whether the target is a valve, a manhole, a junction box, or even a deep pipe section, Aquatech units can be equipped with digging accessories to match.

For the biggest and longest hydro excavation projects, Aquatech also offers a dedicated auxiliary hydroexcavation package, with a pump high-pressure medium-volume dig nozzles.

The Results

  • Fast, precise digging: locate buried infrastructure rapidly, and with surgical precision
  • Long Run Time: fresh water capacity for extended run time with multiple dig holes
  • No risk to infrastructure integrity: high-pressure water will not damage pipes, valves, or other components

Note

Jetting equipment must always be operated by a properly trained and competent worker, following all safe work practices and documented procedures for this type of equipment.
